Breast Cancer Research & Technology

The Swinney's Connection...

Breast cancer hits close to home for the Swinney family.  Kathleen lost her older sister to breast cancer and thanks to breakthrough genetic research and early detection, both Kathleen and her younger sister discovered that they carry the BRCA gene mutation, making the risk of the disease very close to her.  The Swinney's believe that the research and early detection very well may have saved the lives of both Kathleen and her younger sister and they dream of a day when no one suffers from this disease.  They are passionate about helping to find a cure, while hopefully making things a little easier for the families who are currently in the battle with this disease.

1 in 8 women will be diagnosed with the disease over the course of her lifetime.  According to SCDHEC, breast cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer among women in South Carolina. Our objective is to raise funds annually for breast cancer research and prevention, with an emphasis on local hospitals, university research programs, and organizations providing medical screening, testing, and support to local upstate residents.  Since 2009, the All In Foundation has raised and donated over $2 million to breast cancer prevention, technology, research, and early detection.

In The Community...

Bon Secours St. Francis

The Pearlie Harris Center for Breast Health, at the Bon Secours St. Francis Health System in Greenville, SC, offers the most advanced breast imaging equipment available – like digital mammography, breast MRI and computer-aided detection systems.  Since 2009, the Foundation has helped fund “Big Pink,” a mobile mammography coach that serves low-income communities in Anderson, Greenville, Oconee, and Pickens counties.  In 2018, the Foundation was able to provide a $250,000 lead gift toward a brand new mobile unit for St. Francis to replace the original "Big Pink". This will allow Bon Secours to serve at least 3 more counties in the Upstate and was rolled out in 2020.  At the start of 2022, Dabo's All In Team Foundation officially committed to giving another lead gift of $250,000 for a 2nd mobile unit for Bon Secours St. Francis that is expected to begin serving the community in August of 2023.

Additionally, the Foundation has helped to fund a brand new 3-D mammography machine that is up and running at the Pearlie Harris Center for Breast Health.  This machine has proven to be the most effective in early breast cancer detection.

Self Regional Healthcare

In 2023, Dabo's All In Team Foundation's Board of Directors agreed to make a lead gift of $250,000 to help Self Regional Healthcare purchase a new 3-D mobile mammography coach in an effort to bring state-of-the-art breast healthcare to the Lakelands Region of South Carolina.  We are thrilled to be able to expand our support and commitment to providing affordable and accessible breast healthcare to more regions of our state through this partnership with Self Regional.  To read more about our lead gift and new partnership with Self Regional Healthcare, click here

Oconee Memorial Hospital & Greenville Hospital System

In 2018, the All In Foundation was thrilled to give a $100,000 gift, in honor of Dr. Larry and Mary Bowman, to the Breast Care Center on the Prisma Health Oconee Campus, as a result of funds raised from the 2018 Dabo Swinney Ladies Clinic.  This gift was one of the largest contributions to the Breast Care Center on the Prisma Health Oconee Medical Campus and will help provide life-saving mammograms to women in need, as well as seed funds for a clinical navigator to guide patients through their battle with breast cancer.

Other Contributions

The All In Foundation also supports a variety of cancer research teams, non-profits, and support groups through our annual grant program.  Over $70,000 was contributed specifically to cancer-focused applications submitted in the 2023 - 2024 grant cycle.

Fundraising & Events...

Funds will be raised annually from the Dabo Swinney Ladies Clinic, through annual promotions and partnerships with WCCP 105.5 The ROAR and their "Tigers For Tatas" campaign that takes place throughout the month of October.  The Foundation also receives support from other local merchants, as well as from many generous donations made throughout the year that are earmarked specifically for breast cancer focused initiatives.

The 2023 Dabo Swinney Ladies Clinic was held on Saturday, July 15th at Littlejohn Coliseum in Clemson, SC. The objective of the clinic is to educate women on the importance of early breast cancer screening and to raise money for breast cancer research and technology, all while learning some of the rules, strategy, training, etc. of Clemson Football.  This year, the ladies that attended the Dabo Swinney Ladies Clinic raised $250,000 for the fight against breast cancer!
