Dabo’s All In Team® Foundation Awards $52,600 To Family Effect

Dabo’s All in Team® Foundation made an award of $52,600 to The Family Effect at their annual Transformation Breakfast held May 17th in Greenville S.C.

The Family Effect works to reduce addiction as a leading cause of family collapse and harm to children in South Carolina.

As part of the Family Effect mission, Serenity Place is a residential treatment center for pregnant women, young mothers and their preschool-age children.  Each year, about 120 mothers and children find hope, healing and transformation in the program, with each family living on-site for four to six months.  Up to 48 women and children are in treatment at Serenity Place at any given time.

The grant will be used at Serenity Place to upgrade the treatment curriculum, redesign the “First Experience” of mothers entering Serenity Place, and provide hot breakfasts for the resident children and mothers.

In 2010 the foundation awarded a $25,000 grant helping launch a volunteer engagement program at Serenity Place.

Adam Brickner Family Effect Executive Director, "We are so grateful for the generosity of Dabo, Kathleen and the All-in Team Foundation, and for their love and commitment to the women and children of Serenity Place.  This very generous grant will improve the experience for all mothers arriving in the program on their first day, and ensure that they receive the best possible treatment during their six months with us.  And we're thrilled that the All-in Team has stepped up to fund a full year of healthy, hot breakfasts for our families.  Thanks and Go Tigers!"
