DABO’S ALL IN TEAM® Foundation Supports “Call Me Mister”

On July 25th, Kathleen and Coach Swinney presented Dr. Roy Jones and Antonio Taylor a check for $4,000 to the “Call Me Mister” Program. Dr. Jones is the Director of the program at Clemson University and Mr. Taylor is a student enrolled in the program.

The mission of the Call Me MISTER (acronym for Mentors Instructing Students Toward Effective Role Models) National Initiative is to increase the pool of available teachers from a broader more diverse background particularly among the State's lowest performing elementary schools. Student participants are largely selected from among under-served, socio-economically disadvantaged and educationally at-risk communities.

Dr. Jones the program director said, “We (Call Me MISTER program) are deeply indebted and honored to receive the generous donation from Coach Swinney’s Foundation. It is both a testimony to Coach Swinney’s commitment to making a difference in people’s lives and a recognition that our program is making such a difference in the lives of children. His contribution further strengthens our resolve to firmly establish a standard of excellence and expectations essential to insure a better quality of life for many, who need it the most. We’re now all part of Coach’s life team and Call Me MISTER believes - Team Work… Makes The Dream Work!!”

Proceeds from the Foundations annual fantasy camp, fund raising events and at-large donations go toward supporting the “Call Me Mister” program.
